Through history there have been many  middle eastern cults, asian cults, latin cults and Anglo-Saxon cults

Exegesis

The word cult is a short variation of the word occult.  The word’s etymology stem’s from ancient words cor and oculus which mean heart & eye.  Occult is related to the following latin words: a. the word occultus which means to conceal, b. the word cultus which means ceremony, c. the word cultura which can mean worship, honoring, civilization, d. the word colere which means cultivate.

Ancient cults were bastardizations of early religion.  For example, the eye of Horus is an example of “eye” religion based on the God Horus which may at one time been a peaceful non lethal monotheist religion before turning to human sacrifice after the death of Horus.   The heart. (cor) considered the source of life for thousands of years has been the choice of veneration of many cults who would extract the heart of their sacrifice in a ceremony.
