Professional spiritualists (e.g. any common wizard who practices the creation of false spirits and say they are conjuring of souls of the dead) call spiritualism “Spiritism.” Spiritism is a mind cult and should not be classified as a religion.  It is self-described as a spiritualistic philosophy, that started in the 19th century and is associated with names like Aleister Crowley, Madame Bovary Hippolyte Léon Denizard Rivail, who, under the pen name Allan Kardec, wrote books on “the nature, origin, and destiny of spirits, and their relation with the corporeal world”. Spiritists refer to Kardec as the codifier. It is pure fiction,  unscientific  and does not even qualify as theoretical science.  The Gospel According to Spiritism by Allan Kardec is also the same thing, ghost stories and theories that try to ostracize and define metaphysics exclusively controlled by the Holy Spirit.  Between death and rebirth is simple. It is a time of rest and preparation for souls new entry back in the world of the living.   For years the unauthorized ghost world called Spiritism has tried to make it into the world of scientific fact.  Spiritism, satanism, atheism and all cult thinking is abnormal learning or psychological development by classical conditioning.

Spiritualism is also form of racketeering that preys usually on depressed rich men and women who have lost someone they love.  During the 1920s, Harry Houdini devoted himself to exposing fraudulent mediums revealing the techniques mediums used to supposedly “communicate” with the dead.
